Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 now has 4 grand finalists after the 2 semi-final showdowns held September 10 and 17, 2011.
The four grand finalists so far are the shadow theater group El Gamma Penumbra from Batangas, the contemporary dancing duo Lucky Twins from Tacloban City, Sandugo Band from Laguna and Muriel Lumadilla, 16-year-old Fil-Nigerian singer from Cebu.
El Gamma Penumbra was the first to enter the grand finals when they topped the text and online votes during the 1st semi-finals (September 10). The group garnered a high 37.38% of the votes.
The Lucky Twins joined them when they were picked by the judges over Seedz Band.
During last Sunday's 2nd semi-final showdown, two more grand finalists were named: Sandugo Band (Voters' Choice, 27.13%) and Muriel Lumadilla (Judges' Choice).
Muriel was able to beat voters' favorite Geo Ed Rebucas, the male Mariah Carey who sang "I'll Be There" during the performance night last Saturday.
Geo got 23.92% of the votes against Muriel's 17.06%, but 2 of the 3 judges believed Muriel was more deserving to advance to the grand finals.
This Saturday, the 3rd batch of 6 semi-finalists will compete for 2 grand final slots and they are:
Lyn Del Rosario, 44, singer from Muntinlupa City
Jive Dancers from Tacloban City
Synergy, aerial acrobats from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental
GenSan Contortionists from General Santos City
Jefferson and Kurt Bringas, singers from Bansalan, Davao del Sur
Rhonsben Jonota, 11, singer from Negros Occidental
Who among these 6 semi-finalists will advance to the grand finalists?
My Top 3 picks in this batch are the Bringas siblings, Synergy and the GenSan Contortionists.
